Sono state annunciate le nomination alla 32° edizione degli Independent Spirit Awards, i premi del cinema indipendente americano che vengono assegnati 24 ore prima della cerimonia degli Oscar da un gruppo selezionato di critici, registi e produttori.

Moonlight di Barry Jenkins, pellicola che ha aperto la scorsa edizione della Festa del Cinema di Roma e American Honey di Andrea Arnold guidano le nomination di quest’anno, con sei ciascuno.

Segue Manchester by the Sea (visto anche questo a Roma lo scorso ottobre) con cinque nomination (ma non quella a Michelle Williams come non protagonista) e Jackie di Pablo Larraìn, con quattro nomination (inclusa Natalie Portman come migliore attrice, data per favorita insieme al Casey Affleck per Manchester). Ralph Fiennes nominato come miglior attore per A Bigger Splash di Luca Guadagnino, che negli States è uscito quest’anno.

Sono stati consegnati ieri sera a Santa Monica gli Independent Spirit Awards, i premi per il cinema indipendente. La pellicola che ha vinto il maggior numero di riconoscimenti, cinque tra cui Miglior film, Miglior regia (Tom McCarthy), Miglior sceneggiatura, Miglior montaggio e il premio “Robert Altman” per il miglior cast, è stata Il caso Spotlight, Miglior film, Miglior regia (Tom McCarthy), Miglior sceneggiatura, Miglior montaggio e il premio “Robert Altman” per il miglior cast. Brie Larson (la protagonista di Room) ha vinto il premio per la Miglior attrice e Mya Taylor (Tangerine) quello per la Migliore attrice non protagonista. Abraham Attah e Idris Elba hanno invece vinto i premi come Miglior attore protagonista e Miglior attore non protagonista, per Beasts of No Nation di Cary Fukunaga.
